Almost every major sporting city in India has an IPL team for their representation and same as the case with Hyderabad as well. But there is a bit of regional diversity here as this team primarily represents Hyderabad, a part of Telangana, while AP population also owns this team like their own.
Meanwhile, an interesting point has come to debate on social media as people say that SRH is a collective team belonging to the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The public consensus is that SRH must represent both the Telugu states and this can be possible only if the team play games in Hyderabad and also Vizag. They are saying that it would bring more collective to SRH, which is loved by the Telugu community.
Notably, Vizag also has a beautiful cricket Stadium and has hosted a few international games as well. So it is more than capable of hosting the Hyderabad games here. Another additional point is that even Delhi Capitals played a few games in Vizag last year and they were very entertaining.
If the SRH management decides to switch venues from Hyderabad to Vizag, at least for three or four games season, then SRH can build a much stronger collective spirit in the Telugu states. This would only go to gain more significance to the team.
But this is going to be a very distant dream, considering the fact that certain Telangana folks on socials have already been overwhelmingly claiming that SRH entirely belongs to the Telangana state. So if the venues are switched to Vizag, even for a few games, there could be a position from the Telangana side, albeit to a lesser extent.
