Following the commercial success of Good Bad Ugly (GBU), Ajith Kumar is yet to officially announce his next project. However, director Adhik Ravichandran has already confirmed during media interactions that he will once again collaborate with Ajith Kumar after GBU, creating excitement among fans.
Even though the director for the project has been finalised, the film is yet to go on the floors. Earlier, several reports claimed that Ajith Kumar was demanding a remuneration of around Rs. 150 crore to Rs. 180 crore. These rumours led to speculation that producers were hesitant to back the project because of its high cost.
Industry discussions suggest that while GBU emerged as a major success, it reportedly collected around Rs. 280 crore at the box office. Some observers believe Ajith Kumar’s strongest market remains Tamil Nadu, making producers cautious about investing heavily while agreeing to a massive remuneration package.
As a result, the project has remained in limbo for quite some time. GBU was released in theatres last April and more than a year has passed without any official update on Ajith Kumar’s next film. This has left many fans frustrated, with several taking to social media seeking clarity on the delay.
Amid this situation, fresh rumours suggest that Ajith Kumar may have reduced his salary demand and is now reportedly asking for around Rs. 120 crore for the film. It is also being speculated that Adhik Ravichandran has already completed most of the pre-production work, allowing the project to begin shooting quickly once a producer comes on board.
Social media discussions have also seen some fans suggesting that Ajith Kumar should consider a profit-sharing model instead of a fixed remuneration. Others feel that delaying the project further could affect the excitement surrounding the film at the time of its theatrical release.
However, all these developments remain speculative as there has been no official confirmation from Ajith Kumar or the makers. For now, fans will have to wait and see when Ajith Kumar’s 64th film finally begins production and what shape the much-awaited project ultimately takes.
