Another Delay? Who’s Hurting Pradeep Ranganathan?

Following the box office success of Dude, Pradeep Ranganathan‘s next release is Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) directed by Vignesh Shivan and it is planned for a worldwide theatrical release on December 18th.

In this scenario, now there is a strong speculation that LIK might get postponed again from the announced release date, reportedly due to unsold Television and OTT rights.

Pradeep Ranganathan is slowly emerging as a top tier actor in Kollywood with a hat-trick of 100 crore hit films and is also acquiring a huge fan base with his quirky on screen mannerisms.

Kollywood audiences feel that in this prime phase of his career, he should not have made a huge blunder by collaborating with Vignesh Shivan, especially after the postponement buzz.

This sentiment stems from the audience after the fact that, if the buzz is true, this would most probably be the fourth postponement of the film, which began shooting in 2023. They also argue that another delay could affect the film’s positive buzz and even Pradeep Ranganathan’s star power might not be enough to sustain the film in theatres.

Audiences are also heavily criticizing Vignesh Shivan for these multiple delays. They note that while Pradeep Ranganathan can handle a failure at this stage of his career, given his current back to back successes, the success of LIK is very crucial for the director, whose last few films have ended up as terrible disasters. However, they feel the director seems to be careless in delivering the film and does not even care about the situation.

Despite all these criticisms and suggestions, there has not been any official update on the postponement of LIK’s release yet. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether LIK will be released as planned on December 18th or if it will be postponed again.
