
Tamil directors haven’t had much success in Tollywood in recent times. Despite multiple attempts, their films have struggled to impress Telugu audiences.
Lingusamy directed The Warriorr with Ram Pothineni, but the movie turned out to be a boring action film and flopped at the box office.

Similarly, Custody, directed by Venkat Prabhu and starring Naga Chaitanya, also left audiences high and dry. It was a washout at the box office.
Even a big director like Shankar failed to generate excitement with Ram Charan’s Game Changer which eventually became a huge disaster. Before that, Mohan Raja made Godfather with Chiranjeevi, but it didn’t achieve the expected success.

Despite these setbacks, Tamil directors continue to show interest in Tollywood, mainly due to its growing pan-India reach.
Currently, Tamil director Naveen is working on a film with Nagarjuna under Mythri Movie Makers. Lokesh Kanagaraj is in discussions for a movie with Prabhas, and Atlee is planning a big-budget pan-India project with Allu Arjun, which will be produced by Sun Pictures.

Meanwhile, Nelson Dilipkumar is set to direct NTR after Jailer 2 and Prashanth Neel’s project. Nani is also in talks with Tamil director Sibi Chakravarthy for a film.
Directors like Vetrimaaran and H. Vinoth are also keen on collaborating with Tollywood stars, showing that Tamil directors are still eager to make their mark in the Telugu industry.
