Coolie Corporate Bookings Viral: Truth or Troll?

Coolie corporate bookings

Rajinikanth’s much-awaited film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on August 14. With the big day just around the corner, pre-bookings are reportedly moving at a rapid pace.

Reports suggest that in Tamil Nadu, the film is witnessing exceptional demand, with nearly 90% of first-day tickets already sold out in major cities like Chennai. Amid this surge, an old video featuring a Tamil Nadu exhibitor speaking about corporate bookings for Coolie has gone viral on social media.

In the clip, the exhibitor mentions that several companies have begun enquiring about corporate bookings for the film. He adds that for the first three days, many organisations are keen on buying bulk tickets for their employees. According to him, this kind of rush for corporate bookings was last seen during the release of Kabali.

The viral nature of the video has led to mixed reactions online. Some fans allege that the Coolie team might have prioritised corporate sales, leaving fewer tickets for core Rajinikanth fans. However, Kollywood trade trackers have clarified that such arrangements are common for major releases, as companies often purchase bulk tickets for their staff, and it is not a scam.

With the hype and strong advance sales, Coolie is expected to enjoy a massive opening at the box office. The real test will be whether it meets the sky-high expectations and turns into a blockbuster when it releases on August 14.
