After back-to-back hits like Parking and Lubber Pandhu, Harish Kalyan is back with Diesel, directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release tomorrow, October 17, as part of the Diwali festive lineup.

A special press show for Diesel was held this evening in Chennai, and several Kollywood trackers have shared their early reactions on social media. While some have praised Harish Kalyan’s performance, others have called the film average, pointing out issues with its screenplay.

Unconfirmed reports claim that Diesel struggles with pacing and dips in several places. If these reports hold true, the film may face a tough time competing against Dude starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Bison featuring Dhruv Vikram, both releasing this Diwali.

Diesel also faces a challenge with screen availability, as Dude and Bison have already secured most of the theatres across Tamil Nadu. For Diesel to survive the Diwali rush, strong word of mouth will be essential.
