Dude Box Office: Strong Openings Won’t Be Enough?

Pradeep Ranganathan Dude movie release

Pradeep Ranganathan, after the back-to-back blockbuster success of Love Today and Dragon, returns with Dude, directed by debutant Keerthiswaran. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 17 as a Diwali special.

With only days left for release, pre-bookings have opened across theatres in Tamil Nadu. The early response has been impressive, showing strong audience interest ahead of opening day.

Reports reveal that Dude has already crossed 100K interests on BookMyShow. In Tamil Nadu alone, ticket sales are rising fast, with nearly 2,000 tickets sold per hour, reflecting growing excitement for the film.

Trade experts say that if this momentum continues, Dude will record a massive opening. Many believe Pradeep Ranganathan could achieve the biggest opening of his career, matching the numbers usually seen for Tier 2 actors in Kollywood.

Analysts also credit the timing, saying Dude fits the festive mood perfectly as a commercial entertainer for Diwali audiences.

However, despite strong pre-bookings, some trackers point out that the film’s theatrical rights were sold at a high price because of Pradeep Ranganathan’s previous hits. That means good word-of-mouth and steady box office performance will be key to long-term success.

A solid two-week run will determine whether Dude turns into another blockbuster for Pradeep Ranganathan. For now, all eyes are on October 17, when the film’s true box office journey begins.
