Now, there is strong speculation in Tamil media that Lyca Productions has opted out of Indian 3, and Indian 3 may never see the light of day due to some financial issues.

According to the buzz, some portions of Indian 3 remain to be shot, which require a huge budget. But due to Indian 2’s colossal disaster, Lyca Productions has reportedly backed out of the project.
Also, Netflix, which had initially bagged the rights to Indian 2, is said to be unwilling to back Indian 3 and has withdrawn from the project.

If Netflix paid a huge amount to acquire the multipart OTT rights, they may have reason to be worried. Otherwise, if they only secured the OTT rights for Indian 2 alone, Netflix may not be too concerned, say trade experts.
It looks like Indian 3 is almost shelved; however, it remains to be seen whether it will remain an unfinished project or if another production house will step in to complete the movie in the future.
