Suriya’s most anticipated Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1st. With only a few days left, Karthik Subbaraj is currently promoting the movie by giving interviews to popular YouTube channels.
Recently, in one such interview, Karthik Subbaraj revealed that the Retro script was initially written for Superstar Rajinikanth with a greater emphasis on action.

However, it seems that didn’t happen. When he narrated the same script to Suriya, Suriya, after hearing it, asked him whether he had narrated it to Rajinikanth in a light-hearted manner, given the abundance of mass moments.
Karthik Subbaraj also mentioned that once Suriya joined the project, he altered the script to lean more towards a love-action drama. This video has now gone viral.

Earlier buzz suggested that Suriya’s Retro script was initially written for Thalapathy Vijay, but Karthik Subbaraj has now confirmed that the Retro script was designed for Rajinikanth.
It looks like Karthik Subbaraj altered the script to better suit Suriya. Now this has created a lot of confusion amongst the Suriya fans about Whether these changes will have a negative impact, potentially affecting the essence of the movie, or whether it will succeed after release.
