Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra, directed by Dominic Arun, hit theatres on August 28 and became a major box office success. The film’s visuals and music have received wide appreciation from fans and critics alike.
Lokah features a remix version of Ilayaraja’s classic song Kiliye Kiliye, paired with charming shots of Kalyani Priyadarshan. The sequence has gone viral on social media, sparking discussions among movie lovers.
Recently, Ilayaraja filed a copyright claim against Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly, leading to its removal from Netflix. Following this, fans on social media began speculating whether the Lokah team might also face a similar copyright claim.
Many pointed out that Ilayaraja had previously filed a case against the makers of Manjummel Boys for using Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan without proper rights and demanded compensation. They suggest he may take similar action over Kiliye Kiliye in Lokah.
However, there has been no official confirmation on whether Lokah producers acquired the rights for the song. For now, all speculation remains online chatter, and fans are waiting to see if Ilayaraja takes legal action after Lokah’s massive success.
