Sivakarthikeyan’s Madharaasi, directed by AR Murugadoss, released in theaters on September 5th and received mixed responses from audiences. Recently, the team held a success party, and pictures of Sivakarthikeyan, AR Murugadoss, and Anirudh from the event have gone viral on social media.
After the success party pictures spread online, many netizens criticised the team, calling Madharaasi a flop and questioning why it was being celebrated. The reaction reflects disappointment over the film’s performance in multiple centres despite initial hype.
Some viewers compared it to Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, which collected around 350 crores worldwide, noting that Madharaasi rights were sold at a high price. However, the movie underperformed, causing significant losses for distributors in several regions.
Fans and critics also felt that Madharaasi is Anirudh’s weakest work, with no song gaining viral popularity and a background score that fails to impress. While slightly better than Sikandar, it is still far from being a successful venture.
For Sivakarthikeyan, Anirudh, and AR Murugadoss, many consider Madharaasi a misfire. The team is trying to present it as a success, but the viral party pictures have only amplified criticism and sparked debate on social media.
