Narasimha 2 Plans: Why Rajinikanth Is Not Convinced?

Rajinikanth Padayappa 2 update

After the failure of Coolie, Rajinikanth has completed shooting his portions for the much-awaited Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The actor has now started filming his 173rd movie, Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu.

Apart from Jailer 2 and Dharman, Rajinikanth also has a reunion project with Kamal Haasan. The film is tentatively titled KH×RK and will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

Earlier reports claimed that KH×RK could be Rajinikanth’s final film before retirement. However, fresh reports suggest the actor has no plans to quit acting. He is said to be listening to multiple scripts and is also open to making a sequel to one of his biggest classics.

According to reports, Rajinikanth recently discussed a sequel to Padayappa, dubbed as Narsimha in Telugu, with KS Ravikumar. While the duo had a promising one-line concept, the complete script reportedly failed to meet their expectations.

Since Padayappa enjoys a strong legacy, Rajinikanth reportedly wants a script that lives up to the original film. After their discussions, the makers are said to have decided to keep the sequel idea on hold for the time being.

The reports have sparked reactions across social media. Many fans believe Padayappa should remain untouched. They feel that even a well-written sequel may struggle to match the impact and popularity of the original.

Some fans have also pointed to the failure of Indian 2. They argue that Kamal Haasan and Shankar could not recreate the magic of the original film. As a result, they believe Rajinikanth and KS Ravikumar should avoid risking the legacy of Padayappa.

There is still no official confirmation regarding the sequel. It remains to be seen whether Rajinikanth and KS Ravikumar will permanently shelve Padayappa 2 or revisit the project in the future.
