Mixed Reviews for ‘Dude’, Did Suriya Misjudge Timing?

Social media has been buzzing since morning with reviews and discussions about Dude, Bison, and Diesel, which hit theatres today as Diwali special releases in Kollywood.

Many expected Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, to be the festive winner a fun commercial entertainer. But audience reactions turned out mixed, with many calling it just an average film.

After Dude’s underwhelming response, several fans began questioning Suriya’s Karuppu team for not releasing their film this Diwali. They believe Karuppu, being a full-fledged commercial entertainer with devotional elements, could have dominated the box office this festive season.

Fans point out that Karuppu’s teaser, released long ago, created huge anticipation. With no major films released this Diwali, many argue that Karuppu could have easily ruled collections if it had come out now.

As a result, Dream Warrior Pictures, the production house behind Karuppu, is facing criticism for missing a strong release window. Fans say the studio lost a major advantage by not bringing the film out this festive weekend.

The film’s release date hasn’t been announced yet. Director RJ Balaji recently said that Karuppu has shaped up well and hinted that the first single, composed by Sai Abhyankkar, would likely release this Diwali.

Now, fans are waiting to see if the Karuppu team will at least unveil the first single this festival to calm the disappointment among Suriya fans.
