Since its announcement, Jana Nayagan has created huge buzz as Vijay’s final film before he enters full-time politics. But that excitement faded a bit when fans learned that H Vinoth was directing it, lowering initial expectations.
Even so, many believed Anirudh Ravichander would deliver powerful music to match Vijay’s star power. Fans waited eagerly for the first single, expecting it to set new records and energise the film’s momentum ahead of release.
However, Thalapathy Katcheri fell short of those expectations. Listeners called it one of Vijay’s weakest first singles in years. Despite the hype, the song managed just 14 million YouTube views in three days a surprising drop by Vijay’s usual standards.
