The shooting of Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, is complete. The makers have confirmed that the movie will hit theatres on January 9, 2026, as a Pongal release, marking a special send-off for the star.
Earlier, reports claimed that the Jana Nayagan OTT deal was stuck because of the makers’ high price demand. Many top streaming platforms were said to have stepped back, creating buzz around the film’s unsold digital rights.
That changed two days ago when the team dropped the second-look poster featuring the Prime Video logo. It confirmed that Amazon Prime has officially acquired the film’s OTT rights, ending all speculation.
Reports suggest that Amazon Prime bought the all-language digital rights for a massive ₹110 crore. The deal is being hailed as one of the biggest in the Tamil film industry this year.
Industry trackers on social media said that while this isn’t a record-breaking deal, it’s still a strong one. They pointed out that with OTT markets slowing down recently, Jana Nayagan’s digital deal is a major win for its producers.
With this ₹110 crore agreement, Jana Nayagan now ranks third among the highest OTT deals ever for a Kollywood film. Fans are eager to see if the movie matches its hype and gives Vijay the grand farewell he deserves.
