A few years ago AI used to be a term which was used only in futuristic ideas or state-of-the-art technologies; however in today’s day and age it has become a household term and has an influence on our daily life to the degree that no one had ever imagined.
However, with the advent of AI it keeps on strengthening the fact that we need proper people to manhandle it and make sure that the technology is put in right use. As it turns out the governor of Massachusetts, Maura Healey signed an executive order to establish the Artificial Intelligence Strategic Task Force all the way back in February. The main motive of this taskforce was to understand the potential impact of AI on various sectors like the state government, the private sector, higher education, and even individuals.
Furthermore, Healey still plans on seeking another hundred million US Dollars through economic development legislation in order to create an Applied AI Hub in the tech famous state.
As per Morning Consult’s IBM Global AI Adoption Index for the year 2023, the top problem hindering enterprises from successful AI adoption and deployment of technology was found to be “limited AI skills and expertise.” For instance, even in Massachusetts, one of the tech leaders in the entire globe, hiring skilled workers proved to be a top challenge according to the recent survey of business leaders in the area.
The survey highlighted the response of 141 business leaders situated in Massachusetts with 87 percent saying that it’s very (35 percent) or somewhat (52 percent) difficult to find people with the right skills. Another crucial finding was that 95 percent of the leaders said that it should be the top (26 percent) or at least among the top (69 percent) priorities of Gov.
