Google is rumored to be changing its AI chatbot Bard to Gemini as part of a significant overhaul of its artificial intelligence models. As per the leaked changelog revealed, the name change, along with the introduction of a separate app for Android and the incorporation of Gemini AI into Gmail, Maps and YouTube.
Gemini is the moniker of the latest family of AI models introduced by Google in December 2023, comprising Gemini Nano, which runs on Android phones, and Gemini Pro, which powers the new version of Bard. Gemini Pro is claimed to be way more advanced than Bard when it comes to utilities such as comprehension, summarization, reasoning, coding and planning. It is also accessible in more than 40 languages and in over 230 countries worldwide.
The changelog also shows that Google is going to launch a paid version of its AI chatbot, Gemini Advanced, that will be powered by Gemini Ultra, the most powerful and largest model in the Gemini family.
Gemini Ultra purportedly surpasses OpenAI’s GPT-4, the model behind ChatGPT Plus and Microsoft Copilot AI. The advanced version of Gemini will include advanced features like logical reasoning, subtle instructions, collaboration and file analysis.
