How much AI is too much AI? That’s a limit that Meta is thinking to push. While a chunk of users are rejecting AI, Meta is planning to use AI and lure people in when it comes to retaining the user base.
Now, on their recent venture against Twitter (now X), Instagram Threads had a phenomenal start but the ride didn’t go as smoothly as planned. The platform already lost its fair share of users. The app broke ChatGPT’s user record, reaching a stunning 100M users in just five days. But now, almost half of them are gone and it raises some serious concerns.
Mets is now planning to launch some AI chatbots that will exhibit different personalities and the makers are planning to do it by September. As Meta has social media access, it can make their bots more human-like, unlike Google’s Bard. They have been working on the prototypes for a long time and it’s about time that they will launch it in the market.
The tech giant has been working on developing various personas for the chat box which will make you feel that you are talking to a real person. From one chatbot which talks like some historical figure to one that will give you a personalized travel guide in the style of a surfer.
This new addition will be incorporated into the new threads app after it faces an alarming downfall. Now, these chatbots, however useful they are, will provide an element of fun neither the less.
With the more fun part, the AI also brings the dark side of letting the employees. Since last fall, Meta has let around 21000 employees go and that is just one side of how badly this will affect the recruitment.
