Meta is indeed on drugs as they keep on changing the things which are loved and appreciated by the fans. After they basically made Facebook go rogue and now, WhatsApp becomes their new guinea pig. About the tests, fans are excited one bit.
WhatsApp is the most used messaging app and holds a user base of more than 2Bn. Now, posting status is a critical feature of the app as you can share your thoughts and events with all your contacts without sending them personally. But things might change very soon.
Obviously they won’t delete this feature but is on its way to change its exclusivity. Previously, you could post a status for 24 hours and it was kept that way. But recent reports suggest that they will be extending that window to 2 weeks.
That is indeed disastrous as it will take away the whole essence of the platform. Now you might ask, what’s the big deal? You can always have the choice not to use it. But the query rises, why fixing something if it isn’t broken?
WhatsApp is already suffering from the disease of ‘Lets add some more features’ and the WhatsApp channels scream that factor. The simplicity of WhatsApp makes it so much usable and beloved and if it’s followed by a few more major changes, it will lose its charm.
