A student recently shared a disappointing experience with Air France‘s advertised “Student Fares.” While planning a trip for January 2026, they explored the airline’s student fare page, which highlights special conditions and perks.
No Student Fares Found
Despite multiple searches for various destinations, including popular routes like Paris to New York, no student fares were available. The student believed it might be a technical issue and tried different cities, dates, and browsers, but saw no results.
Customer Service Provided No Clarity
The student then contacted Air France’s customer service to ask why the program was promoted without showing available discounts. They also requested a list of destinations eligible for student fares, but no response has been received so far.
Loyalty Undermined by Lack of Transparency
The disappointment grew deeper as the student’s family had flown with Air France since 1999. Despite this loyalty, the lack of clarity left them considering other airlines.
Competitors Provide Clear Discounts
In comparison, Lufthansa Group, Turkish Airlines, and Delta not only offer student discounts but make them clearly visible during booking. This makes Air France’s “Student Fares” appear more like a marketing tool than a genuine offer, pushing students towards more transparent competitors.
