Air India flights have recently been facing frequent technical issues, both mid-air and before take-off. Following the tragic Air India crash at Ahmedabad, growing concerns have surfaced over the airline’s safety standards.
Technical Glitch on Mumbai-Newark Flight
On Wednesday, another Air India flight bound for the United States reported a technical glitch mid-air, causing discomfort to passengers. The Mumbai–Newark Boeing 777 developed the issue nearly two hours after departing from Mumbai at 1.14 am.
Safe Return and Passenger Care
The aircraft, carrying around 100 passengers due to Diwali season, safely returned to Mumbai by 5.30 am. Consequently, the return Newark–Mumbai service was cancelled.
While the aircraft is being inspected, all affected passengers were provided hotel accommodation and rebooked on alternate Air India or other airline flights to reach their destinations.
Air India’s Response
Passengers from Newark to Mumbai are also being accommodated on alternate services. Air India has assured that passenger and crew safety continues to be its top priority as the airline investigates the incident.
