Flyer Furious Over Air India’s Shady Seat Shuffle

Air India passenger seat allotment issue

An Air India passenger recently shared his frustration over a seat allotment issue that questioned the airline’s transparency. He had booked 14A, confirmed it at web check-in, and even saw it on his boarding pass.

On boarding, staff reassigned him to 15A, saying there was an “issue” with 14A. To his shock, another traveller was already seated there. This left him unsettled and raised doubts about the process.

Confusing explanation from staff

Post-flight, Air India staff claimed 14A appeared “unoccupied” because of an armrest problem and added that the 14th row was not reservable. This contradicted his booking details, making the matter even more frustrating.

Suspicion of unfair dealings

The passenger recalled hearing those in 14A and 14B discuss how they had tried for seats closer to the front. This made him suspect possible backhand dealings behind the reassignment.

Need for better transparency

The incident highlights serious concerns about seat allotment and customer service. For passengers, such experiences reduce trust in the airline. Air India must address these issues quickly to restore confidence and transparency.
