A Reddit user recently shared a disturbing travel experience while flying American Airlines from New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Indianapolis (IND). What started as a stressful situation quickly turned into something far worse.
According to the post, the traveler had already faced a 12-hour ordeal during their previous American Airlines flight a week ago.

That journey was filled with endless gate changes, long delays, deplaning, and waiting more than 90 minutes on the plane before takeoff. This time, they hoped things would be smoother. Unfortunately, they were wrong.
Their latest trip began with more gate changes and delays. After finally boarding and waiting to taxi for 30 minutes, a maintenance issue forced everyone to deplane again.

Just as the traveler was trying to stay calm, they noticed a strange smell from the man sitting across the aisle. Moments later, they saw a trail of feces across the airport floor leading to the restroom. Passengers were unknowingly walking and rolling their bags through it.
The traveler suspected the man had an accident on the plane. They later confirmed he was no longer on the new flight and hoped he received the care he needed. Still, the whole situation added to their frustration with the airline’s chaotic operations.

The post wasn’t meant to shame the sick passenger but to express how American Airlines’ poor handling of delays and maintenance checks is wearing people down.
From gate confusion to last-minute repairs, travelers are being pushed to the edge. The user said they would avoid flying American Airlines again for the foreseeable future.
The real issue lies in how such problems keep recurring and how little passengers can do except wait.
