Yet another Reddit post that is quickly gaining attention tells the story of a traveler who had a frustrating experience with Delta Airlines during what was supposed to be a smooth SkyMiles award trip from Salt Lake City to Barcelona.
The journey started with a delay of nearly an hour at Salt Lake City. Though the layover in Atlanta was originally 1 hour and 50 minutes, the delay made the connection very tight.
During the flight, the traveler found out that Delta had rebooked them on an Air France flight via Paris without proper notice.
Upon landing, the traveler reached the Air France gate, only to be told they could not print a boarding pass. Delta staff later claimed that although the traveler had a seat assignment, the flight no longer had any award ticket space available. Despite being rebooked by the airline, Delta refused to let them board.
The traveler had to stay overnight and was rebooked for the next day, losing a day in Barcelona and money on a non-refundable hotel.
