Flyer Loses Credit Over United’s Fake Promise?

United Airlines Fake Promise

A frustrated United Airlines customer recently shared their experience of losing flight credits due to what they describe as the airline’s failure to follow through on its own promises. The traveler had a credit nearing expiration that was not visible on United’s website.

Upon calling customer service, they were assured the issue would be resolved and the credit extended by 30 days. The caller even received a reference number for the case.

But when they followed up, they were told the credit had expired. United reportedly backtracked on the extension, claiming they no longer offer 30-day grace periods.

As a result, the traveler lost both of their flight credits, despite having documentation of the situation and the airline’s earlier commitment.

Adding to the frustration, another user replied with a similar story. In their case, United claimed a refund had been issued, while the travel agency handling the booking denied receiving it. Despite having chat logs and confirmation emails indicating that a credit was issued, the user said neither party was taking responsibility or resolving the matter.

While a frequent flyer suggested checking the United app or using the email-based credit search tool on their website, the original poster confirmed they had already done so. Only one credit appeared before disappearing altogether.

The incident raises serious questions about the reliability of United’s credit system and the integrity of its customer service. With multiple customers reporting similar issues, it’s no surprise that some are now vowing never to fly United again.
