Couple Delays Indigo Flight, Verbally Abuses Passengers

IndiGo flight boarding delay

An IndiGo flight travelling from Navi Mumbai to Mangalore was delayed by more than an hour after a couple allegedly created a disturbance during boarding. The incident reportedly caused tension among passengers waiting inside the aircraft.

The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 11 AM. However, it reportedly took off only at 12:23 PM following the commotion onboard.

Most passengers had already boarded the aircraft when the delay happened. One member of the couple boarded close to departure time, while his wife reportedly arrived much later.

Her delayed entry allegedly led to sarcastic applause from frustrated passengers. Many travellers had been waiting inside the aircraft for a long time before departure.

The reaction reportedly angered the husband. Witnesses claimed he verbally abused fellow passengers and issued threats during the argument onboard.

According to reports, he allegedly said, “Neeche utar dikhata hoon kaun hoon main,” while continuing the confrontation. He also reportedly defended the delay by saying flights are “always late” anyway.

The situation was later brought under control after the passenger apologised to fellow travellers. The flight then departed for Mangalore without further disruption.

After landing in Mangalore, an IndiGo manager reportedly apologised to passengers for the inconvenience caused during boarding and departure.

The passenger who shared details of the incident later tried to file a police complaint at the airport outpost. However, officials reportedly informed him that he would need to visit the Bajpe Police Station to formally register the complaint.

Frustrated with the overall experience and additional delays, he eventually decided not to pursue the matter further. The incident has since triggered online discussions about airline boarding procedures, passenger behaviour, and accountability during flight delays.
