Passengers on IndiGo flight 6E 360 from Delhi to Darbhanga staged a brief protest on the runway of Indira Gandhi International Airport this Thursday. The demonstration began after the flight was cancelled following its return to Delhi shortly after take-off.
Flight Delay and Return to Delhi
The flight was initially delayed due to heavy rains, waterlogging, and traffic congestion in the Delhi-NCR region. It eventually departed but was forced to return when Darbhanga Airport could not accept landings because of operational timing restrictions in place.
Passengers Stage Brief Protest
Frustrated passengers, upon landing back in Delhi, sat on the runway in protest. Airport security intervened quickly, ending the demonstration within minutes. The incident raised concerns over communication and handling of disruptions during adverse weather conditions.
Weather and Airport Limits Blamed
Sources suggest the cancellation was caused by poor weather combined with Darbhanga Airport’s limited operating hours. IndiGo offered passengers options to reschedule, take alternative flights, or claim full refunds for the disrupted journey.
IndiGo Issues Apology
In an official statement, IndiGo apologised for the inconvenience and said the disruption was beyond its control. The airline added that its teams assisted passengers and kept them informed, making all possible arrangements for affected travellers.
