Kuwait Airways Threatens YouTuber

YouTuber Nonstop Dan recently flew Kuwait Airways First Class and encountered what he describes as one of the most troubling experiences of his reviewing career.

Known for his calm tone and fair evaluations, Dan had originally planned to title the video “The Forgotten Middle Eastern First Class,” highlighting the surprisingly low fare of around 1,480 US dollars.

The flight itself was a mixed experience. While the seats on the Boeing 777 were spacious and offered personal air vents, the bedding was minimal, limited to just a blanket with no mattress.

The food served was also subpar. However, the welcome from the first class crew was polite, and the lavatory was clean and well-stocked.

Despite not recording any other passengers or crew members, Dan says tensions began when staff noticed his filming equipment.

He was told he could not film onboard and was later warned by the purser that publishing the video without permission could result in consequences. According to Dan, the purser stated he could not guarantee Dan’s safety upon landing if the video were made public.

The threats continued until the aircraft arrived in Kuwait. After landing, Dan says every passenger had their luggage searched and he was questioned by local authorities.

Dan has released only part one of his review so far, stopping short of detailing the police interaction. Reactions online have been divided.

Some argue that airlines have the right to control onboard filming while others have criticized the airline for what they see as intimidation. Part two of Dan’s review is expected soon.
