A regular Qatar Airways business class passenger has voiced growing frustration with the airline’s declining service standards. The traveller shared detailed feedback about issues ranging from comfort and catering to lounge and hotel experiences.
Narrow Seats and Inconsistent Comfort
According to the traveller, Qatar Airways business class seats offered limited head and shoulder space, along with overly firm cushioning. In comparison, Singapore Airlines was praised for its attentive crew and superior in-flight experience.
Food Quality Below Expectations
The passenger noted that the food service had become repetitive and failed to meet business class standards. Some flights reportedly served stale bread and pastries. On one long-haul route, light meal options ran out mid-flight, while beverage service was inconsistent or incorrect. Bed-making assistance was also only provided upon specific request.
Lounge and Holiday Packages Disappoint
Even the Doha lounges reflected reduced variety and freshness. The traveller also mentioned unsatisfactory experiences with Qatar Holidays, citing poor hotel conditions and disappointing dining quality.
High Prices, Declining Value
The passenger expressed frustration over what they described as “premium pricing for non-premium service.” The combination of higher fares and visible cost-cutting measures has raised questions about Qatar Airways’ value compared to rivals like Singapore Airlines, Emirates, and Cathay Pacific.
This feedback adds to growing concerns that Qatar Airways may no longer justify its position as a leading luxury airline in the global market.
