A Ryanair passenger has been stuck in Dublin for over a week after their checked luggage, containing essential medication, was left behind in Amsterdam. The traveller flew from Dublin to Amsterdam on 5 August but was denied entry due to an administrative SIS error and returned the next day.
AirTag tracking showed the bag still in Amsterdam. At Dublin Airport, the passenger filed a Property Irregularity Report but never received the promised reference number. Without it, Ryanair’s customer service repeatedly refused to help.
On 12 August, the passenger visited the Ryanair desk in person, where staff confirmed the report existed and said the bag would be sent on the next available flight. However, they still withheld the reference number.
Baggage staff later confirmed the bag’s location and assured it would arrive on 13 August, but despite several flights, it has not moved. The passenger, who lives in Glasgow, has now run out of vital medication and faces the choice of staying in Dublin or returning home, fearing the bag may be sent to the wrong city.
A formal complaint has been lodged with Ryanair.
