
Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, was released in theatres on February 6th but received mixed responses and ended its theatrical run as a terrible disaster.
Now, Vidaamuyarchi is streaming on Netflix in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

It stands as Ajith Kumar’s lowest-grossing theatrical release in the last 10 years. In recent times, films that failed in theatres have also struggled on OTT platforms. Given the negative theatrical reception, industry experts predict that Vidaamuyarchi may face a similar fate on Netflix.
A similar situation occurred when Indian 2 ended its theatrical run as a colossal disaster and later became a troll fest among Kollywood audiences after its OTT release.

Even though Vidaamuyarchi is a passable entertainer, Kollywood audiences feel that a star like Ajith Kumar should not settle for mediocre content, making them hesitant to watch the film.
With Vidaamuyarchi now streaming on Netflix, it remains to be seen whether the film can garner decent responses from OTT audiences or if it will become another meme-fuelled troll fest among netizens.
