OTT Disaster: Zero Talent, Maximum Boredom!

Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story

Disney+ Hotstar is supposed to drop a lot of shows this year. A few of them have already arrived and others are waiting to get released. Meanwhile, a new film is now available on the platform, titled Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story.

Featuring Vardhaan Puri and Kaveri Kapur, the romantic drama is directed by Kunal Kohli, who is well-known for helming films of a similar genre such as Hum Tum in the past. The reviews for the film are out now on social media and unfortunately, no one is impressed with it.

Kunal’s direction has been heavily criticized along with the story, which has been featured in many other films in the past. The responses have mentioned that the story does not deliver anything new and there are a few moments that would make audiences emotional.

Although the runtime is not too long, the screenplay is not fast-paced, and certain sequences could have been trimmed for a better outcome, as per the reactions. While the show tackles issues prevalent in today’s world, the execution is not strong enough to hold the audience’s attention.

The music of the film has also received a mixed response, with people saying that the composition could have been better considering the genre. The performances of the lead pair are still getting some appreciation.

Overall, the film is a complete disappointment. Since theatres are open now and we are not living in the pandemic anymore, it is the best time for certain actors to try their luck on the big screen instead of sticking to OTT platforms.

Furthermore, Kunal Kohli’s career as a director has gone through a lot of ups and downs over the years, except Hum Tum and Fanaa.

Kunal should have attempted something else out of his comfort zone instead of focusing on a routine love story and he needs to do the same for his next project if he is genuinely interested to bounce back after delivering a series of flops.
