After rising to the top of Netflix’s most watched films in 2021. Haseen Dilruba, directed by Vinil Mathew who also directed Hasee Toh Phasee and written by Kanika Dhillon who also wrote Manmarziyan, is a quirky heart-winner that is ready to make a return. The Vikrant Massey and Tapsee Pannu starrer film is produced by Anand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma and Tapsee under the banner of A Color Yellow Production.
Remastering the trope of Cherche-La-Femme for the desi viewers the film raises the bar quite high. Phir Ayi Haseen Dilruba is set to be a chilling thriller that follows murder of a husband by her wife, and its chilling investigation. After the critics had claimed Haseen Dilruba an unlikely success, the film proved them wrong and Phir Ayi Dilruba aims to bring back the adventure for us. Vikrant Massey and Tapsee were duly commended for their performances and they are set to star in the sequel as well.
This sequel can be an opportunity for the makers to improve upon the criticism while keeping the buzz alive. While Indian filmmaking deserves to bring unique forms of storytelling and keep the scope of experimentation alive. Only time can tell what record Tapsee’s Dilruba will set this time!
