Jio Hotstar Making SonyLIV’s Reach Tougher?

Jio Hotstar Sonyliv

After the OTT release of Marco on SonyLIV, the makers had to release the Telugu version of the movie on Aha Telugu. The reason is SonyLIV’s extremely low reach in South India and its consistent reducing credibility in the north too.

People are regularly complaining about advertisements and the scarcity of content on SonyLIV. A popular show like WWE was taken up by Netflix from SonyLIV and fans are quite happy.

Now after the merging of Disney+Hotstar and JioCinema, it is getting more difficult for the platform to survive. The competitors in the OTT market are big giants like Prime Video or Netflix or mergers like Jio Hotstar.

Jio Hotstar’s arrival has indeed affected the business of SonyLIV a lot and netizens are suggesting that shows like Shark Tank or Master Chef should be coming out on Jio Hotstar for a better viewing experience.

People on social media are suggesting that SonyLIV and Zee5, that is another struggling platform like it, should merge like Jio Hotstar and it will help them to not only survive but build a better platform with smoother user experience.

Whether that is feasible or not is unknown, but SonyLIV indeed has to go a long way to ensure the satisfaction of the subscribers to compete with these OTT biggies.
