As Wimbledon fever is on at the moment, Indian fans are relying on JioHotstar for live streaming of the event, and it is safe to say that they are not enjoying the viewing experience so far.
While the streaming quality is decent and good, the main problem arises when the platform changes streams mid-match, hence disrupting the viewing.
Since Wimbledon 2025 started, the streams have been irregular, and several cases have been shared by users where the streams ended or were shifted during a match, and even between a tiebreaker.
While it kills the anticipation and excitement, many fans are not able to see their favorite players play in highly contested matches, as JioHotstar is not managing the streams for all the matches.
In one instance, in a centre court stream where the Women’s singles quarter finals were being played was about to show another quarter final in the men’s category between Novak Djokovic and Flavio Cobolli.
However, after the women’s match ended, that stream shifted to another men’s quarterfinal played between Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton. Ultimately, two different streams were showing the same match, hence angering viewers.
Throughout the week, users took to social media, raising their queries and complaints regarding the irregular streaming of matches. Several users stated that the wrong match is being streamed, and nothing is being done to rectify the problem.
As Wimbledon has reached the semi-final stage, it remains to be seen if JioHotstar tries to give viewers a good viewing experience at last or not.
