The Diplomat starring John Abraham and directed by Shivam Nair released on 14 March. The film had a below average reception with only Rs. 54 crore collection worldwide.

Based on a true story John Abraham played the character of JP Singh who saves an Indian girl forced into marriage in Pakistan. The film was performance heavy and relied on intense acting by John and supporting cast.
Everyone who watched the film called it decent and film pundits and fans had a lot of hopes with John in a new avatar. By shedding his action figure he tried his hands at a versatile acting job.

The film got appreciated but it didn’t turn into good numbers at the big screens. Many felt that it was better to watch the film on OTT as it did not have the big screen appeal.
Now, the film is soon releasing on OTT platform Netflix on 9 May. Fans hope that it reaches a wider demographic now and earns the love it genuinely deserved.
