Thalapathy Vijay is one of the biggest names associated with Tamil cinema, and he has gradually moved onto the political scene now. His miraculous victory in the recent Tamil Nadu assembly election meant that Jana Nayagan was his farewell film earlier this year.
Now this film is back in the discussion as it turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in recent times. It might have generated mention worthy numbers at the global box office but this was entirely due to Thalapathy Vijay start and had nothing to do with the shambolic Content that was cooked by the director.
People have now started to discuss whether Vijay had committed a huge mistake by going for H Vinoth as the director of this film.
After watching the commercial presentation of superstar Rajinikanth in Jailer 2, many are commenting that Vijay must have simply gone for Nelson Dilipkumar to direct his farewell film.
Considering the significance of the farewell film for Vijay and the kind of commercial aspect that’s associated with it, he needed a capable director like Nelson for the job.
Vijay had already worked with Nelson for Beast and this was not a happy experience either. It did not perform as expected at the ticket counters, but Nelson was still able to extract good music and good visuals featuring Vijay.
If Vijay was actually contemplating the farewell film, then he should have perhaps gone for Nelson to handle it and he might have done a brilliant job with it, like how he’s doing for Rajinikanth now.
