The AI adaptation of the Mahabharat, titled Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh, is now streaming on JioHotstar. While the trailer had already received mixed reactions, viewers were still curious to see how Artificial Intelligence would reimagine the epic.
That excitement didn’t last long. After the first episode aired, viewers criticised the show heavily for its poor execution. Many found the AI visuals awkward and the storytelling lifeless.
Users pointed out multiple flaws stiff characters, strange facial expressions, and unrealistic backgrounds. The visuals looked flat, and the sound lacked clarity, making it hard to sit through.
Some scenes even became memes online. One viewer posted a screenshot showing a modern bedside desk in an ancient setting, while another mocked a boat scene where characters appeared emotionless and oddly animated.
Fans compared the show to recent human-made versions of Mahabharat, praising those for strong performances and rich production. In contrast, Ek Dharmayudh felt hollow and emotionless.
The show serves as a reminder that AI still cannot match human creativity or emotional depth. What was expected to be a bold step for digital storytelling ended up showing how far AI still has to go in truly understanding human expression.
