Typically, dubbed movies don’t enjoy a long run these days, but the survival thriller Manjummel Boys continues to dazzle at the box office even after three weeks in the Telugu states.
The film emerged as an all-time blockbuster in Malayalam, and its Telugu version has also turned out to be a big success for Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings who released the film in Telugu.
Reportedly, Manjummel Boys will soon stream on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar from May 3 onwards. However, an official announcement regarding its OTT release is still pending from the producers or the streaming service.
Recent trends have shown that certain films, that didn’t perform exceptionally well in theaters, found immense love on OTT platforms. Conversely, some major theatrical blockbusters received only average responses from OTT audiences and quickly faded away.
Additionally, there’s a segment of individuals who refrain from buying cinema tickets but give free ka gyaan on social media. They criticize movies on OTT platforms just to appear cool. They aim to make people who enjoyed that particular movie in theaters feel inferior.
We have to see what kind of response Manjummel Boys gets on OTT. Will it receive the same kind of blockbuster response from the OTT viewers or will it get a mixed response?
We guess the OTT audience is also going to give a thumbs up as Manjummel Boys has several merits that make it a compelling watch.
However, Manjummel Boys is a brave film and a huge winner irrespective of the reviews it gets from the digital audience after it starts streaming on OTT.
