Nayanthara has expanded her pan-Indian reach in the past few years and it will be put to test with her upcoming OTT release. Test starring Nayanthara is a story of a woman who wanted to fulfill her simple dreams but life had different plans for her.
It is a Tamil film but since it is releasing on Netflix, makers can expect that fans all over India would give it a chance and it may gain much bigger demographic support if the performance and story hits just right. Nayanthara’s role in Jawan got a great response but after that she couldn’t use the momentum to gauge more success in the North.
On top of that, the court case by Dhanush’s production house for using clips from their film without permission in the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale had her in thick waters. She received a lot of backlash from Dhanush’s fans and the case is still ongoing.
Opening up about her character she stated that it was an unexpected journey for her and she felt deeply connected to her role of Kumidha. This film might bring her some relief but nothing can be said for sure until it’s official release on 4 April, 2025.
