Netflix New Hyd Hub: Big Bet on Indian VFX Talent

Netflix is set to open a new production hub in Hyderabad on March 12. The facility will focus on high end post production, visual effects and virtual production. This move reflects Netflix’s growing investment in India’s digital entertainment ecosystem.

The upcoming centre is expected to strengthen Hyderabad’s position in the animation, visual effects, gaming and comics sector, commonly known as AVGC. Over the years, the city has emerged as an important destination for digital production and creative technology companies.

This development will also mark Netflix’s second office in India after its Mumbai location. The company has been steadily expanding its presence in the country as demand for streaming content and digital production services continues to grow.

The Hyderabad hub will reportedly cover nearly 30,000 square feet. It is designed to support advanced visual effects work and large scale post production projects for films and streaming content.

According to officials, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister D. Sridhar Babu are expected to inaugurate the facility. The event will highlight the growing collaboration between the government and global entertainment companies.

Government sources said Netflix selected Hyderabad because of its strong digital infrastructure and the availability of skilled professionals in the media and entertainment sector. The city already has a large pool of artists and technicians working in visual effects and gaming.

Several global companies already operate in the local ecosystem. These include Warner Bros. Discovery, Walt Disney, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Skyline VFX, Mattel, and Barnstorm VFX.

Officials said the initiative also supports the government’s Telangana Rising 2047 vision. The long term plan aims to position Hyderabad as a major global hub for technology, creative industries and digital production.

Netflix’s latest investment is also seen as a sign of global confidence in India’s expanding visual effects industry. With growing demand for digital content, India’s skilled talent pool continues to attract international media companies.
