Netflix India Making It Tough For Rival OTT

After releasing multiple films and web series on its platform, it seems like Netflix is all set to take over the world of television. Netflix has been streaming content that was originally a part of or released by Sony Networks over the years.

Netflix recently started trending after they announced that they would stream WWE Raw on their platform, which was part of a deal worth $1 billion. While the viewership numbers have not been up to the mark, the deal won’t be canceled so easily.

The platform also created headlines after they decided to air new episodes of the popular show CID every weekend at 10 p.m. However, Netflix or Sony has not responded to anything behind this development.

On the other hand, Kapil Sharma’s show on Netflix also received a lot of praise from the audience and after two seasons, it is now returning with another installment.

This is undoubtedly a surprise since Kapil could have opted to sign a deal with Sony Liv considering that his show aired on Sony Network for more than four years. However, it did not happen.

While Netflix has already accumulated a huge viewership after their last few shows received a positive response, it looks like they are planning to expand their subscribers with the latest move.

Everyone is well aware that Sony Liv’s monthly and yearly subscriptions are costlier compared to Netflix. There is a possibility that Netflix might be using this problem as a way out for them to attract more people to their platform.

But nothing much can be speculated for now until Netflix and Sony Liv explain everything that is happening. Let’s see when that happens.
