Netflix is gearing up for a treasure hunt unlike anything Indian audiences have seen before. Soumendra Padhi, the director behind the hit crime drama Jamtara – Sabka Number Ayega, is returning to the streamer with an ambitious adventure series starring Vijay Varma, Rahul Bhat, and Richa Chadha.
The yet-untitled project is being mounted on the lines of the Indiana Jones franchise. It promises ancient mysteries, hidden treasures, and a puzzle-driven narrative that keeps viewers guessing.
Written by Parveez Shaikh (Darlings), Karan Vyas (Scam 1992), and Padhi, the series revolves around three central characters. Varma plays the treasure hunter at the heart of the story, while Richa steps into the role of a police officer.
Rahul’s character remains under wraps. The ensemble also features Kusha Kapila (Maamla Legal Hai) and Ankita Lokhande (Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi), marking the latter’s streaming debut.
Filming has wrapped, with post-production underway and a mid-2027 premiere being targeted. The project marks Varma’s eighth leading role in a Netflix India Original since 2020, making him the streamer’s most frequent leading star in India. His previous credits include IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, Darlings, and Jaane Jaan. He will next appear in Hansal Mehta’s Family Business alongside Anil Kapoor.
For Rahul, the series marks his second Netflix collaboration after Black Warrant. He previously described the project as a giant production unlike anything Indian cinema has attempted, even as the future of Black Warrant Season 2 remains uncertain. Richa was last seen in Heeramandi, while Kapila’s Netflix credits include Masaba Masaba and Plan A, Plan B.
