During 2018–19, Radhika Apte ruled the Netflix OTT space. Every other show or film—from Sacred Games, Ghoul, Lust Stories, to Raat Akeli Hai—cast her, and her performances were loved by many in all of them.
Reports suggest that she is making a strong comeback and is set to headline Vikramaditya Motwane’s segment in the upcoming Netflix anthology Lust Stories 3.
Sources say that the shoot for this short film has already begun.
This marks Radhika’s return to the Lust Stories franchise after starring in Anurag Kashyap’s critically acclaimed segment in the first installment, released in 2018.
Shakun Batra and Kiran Rao are reportedly directing the other segments of Lust Stories 3, which is set to premiere later this year.
The new season will continue with the anthology format, presenting four distinct stories exploring themes of love, desire, power dynamics, and social issues.
It seems Radhika Apte is officially back, with two more projects lined up with the streaming giant.
The first is Yash Raj Films’ crime drama series Akka, alongside Keerthy Suresh, and the second is Raat Akeli Hai 2, where she reunites with Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
In addition, her upcoming films include Saali Mohabbat, Tisca Chopra’s directorial debut, which is currently making the rounds at various international film festivals.
It will be exciting to see Radhika Apte back in the Netflix OTT space after a while. Fans have high expectations from her, and many are hopeful that she will surpass them once again.
