Vijay Deverakonda and Parasuram have reunited again after Geetha Govindam for Family Star which hit the theaters today. The film is billed to be a commercial potboiler.
Coming to the OTT side of things, it has been confirmed that the post-theatrical OTT streaming rights of Family Star are with Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon Prime amped up its acquisition rate in the Telugu OTT space and they have sealed the deal for Family Star.
It has been a while since Amazon tied up with Vijay’s films as his previous outings Kushi and Liger went with Netflix and Hotstar respectively.
The multi-language OTT rights of Family Star are with Amazon Prime Video and the OTT release date could be announced in due course. Considering that Amazon is usually aggressive about orchestrating the earliest possible OTT release date for their films, it has to be seen if Family Star will stream four weeks post the theatrical release.
The Parasuram directorial features Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles and is funded by Dil Raju.
