In a recent interview, Arati opened up about how recreating the film was a big challenge, but she did it for her mother.

She revealed that she wanted her mother to watch The Great Indian Kitchen but she was struggling because she’s not used to subtitles. Hence, Arati decided she would make a Hindi remake of the film just for her mother.

While the Malayalam film is available on OTT, a lack of a dubbed version really struggled to bring this important film to a wider audience.

Unfortunately, the theme of the story is such that it could fit in any city or state. And so a Hindi remake of the film really helped it reach a wider audience.

Arati also revealed that she spoke to many women of different age groups, and it moved her to tears how someone even 10 years to her was facing the same problems.

This was a big motivation for her to remake the film.

When the movie was released, many people had their doubts about it. They questioned why a remake was necessary despite having the original film, which was much deeper and hard-hitting than Mrs.

But after its release, the film has sparked a conversation about the patriarchal issues of the familial structure, which is one of the main reasons why a remake was necessary.
