Shame: Netflix and Prime Ignored This Title!

Netflix-India-Prime-Video

When it comes to OTT in India, there are multiple major players like Prime Video, Netflix, Zee5, Hotstar, etc. However, often the bosses of these major OTTs have no clue about what will resonate with regional audiences.

Here’s an example: a simple, relatable show called ’90s – A Middle-Class Biopic’ is currently creating a significant buzz on social media. However, it is streaming on a relatively unknown platform, ETV Win.

Sadly, many people on social media openly admit to watching it by downloading piracy or Telegram links due to the lesser-known visibility of ETV Win.

If it had been streamed on Netflix or Prime Video, it would have reached a much larger audience. While the show may not be groundbreaking, in Telugu regional content, it’s a first—a show with nostalgia with many heart-warming moments.

Netflix and Prime surely missed out on a hit show. This isn’t the first time; last year, Prime Video India rejected a film, and the film was picked up by an unknown platform, becoming a social media sensation. Eventually, Prime Video bought it at a good price.
