Radhika Apte stars in this movie as Uma who fails to stand up to the typical expectations from a woman in an arranged marriage. Karan Kandhari is an Indian origin filmmaker based in London.
The filmmaker’s use of comedy is appreciated by many critics and his cultural representation of the people as well. The film uses music ranging from Bengali folk to American punk. Sister Midnight featured at Cannes on the 19th of May, 2024.
