Zoya Akhtar’s “The Archies” has been in the talks since it was announced. It had a contrasting impact on the audience. There were a people who strongly opposed the retelling of the original comics. While there were a few who had trust in zoya akhtar and her filmmaking and were excited for it.
The trailer just released today on Netflix and it promises about a heart warming journey of friends who are barely 17 and are on a mission that involves place where they live, their future and even their friendship.
In “The Archies” trailer, we see a bunch of friends played by Vedang Raina, Khushi Kapoor, Sukhana Khan and more living some of their happiest moments in riverdale which is set up just as what we have witnessed in the comics. Zoya akhtar has a mastery in showing people involved in conflicting emotions with movies like “Dil Dhadakne Do” and “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”. Set in 1960s It looks colourful, vibrant but somewhat bland. What disappoints in the trailer is the lack of facial expression on these actors. They must work on their skills more to make themselves expressive on screen. But it’s still a Zoya Akhtar film and we can trust on her skills.
