Netflix has a diverse range of drama in its category. Starting from spine chilling horror movies to very niche indie movies, nothing is left by Netflix to provide its viewers.
Recently a Turkish drama is set to stream on Netflix. Based on a book by Afşin Kum, Kubra revolves around our main protagonist Gokhan Sahinoglu, who is convinced that he is receiving messages from the divine, and in order to complete what he has been asked to do he embarked on a journey of violence.
Season 1 of this series premiered on January 18, 2024, and now it’s nearly the time for season 2, on June 6 the season 2 is going to premiere.
The trailer of the second season will send goosebumps in your skin. A guy who thinks that he is throwing a war in the name of god. Such kinda terrorism can be seen in movies like “The Attacks of 26/11”.
Where we can see via dialogues that young men were manipulated to do such things in the name of religion and god, and the same agenda is shown in this trailer as well.
Every industry in some way or other is exploring this theme of “Holy War” Bollywood exploited this issue to such an extent that there is no issue left to cover. Terrorism is one the favourite topics of Bollywood directors.
But, the recent global sensation “Dune Part Two” explores the same theme, an ordinary man who becomes the messenger of god just like Gokhan Sahinoglu, in Kubra.
At the end of season 1 ,Gokhan discovers that Kübra is a powerful A.I. that has access to all knowledge and everything, this concept is very much similar with the main theme of Dune. The evolution of Dune happened because of the computer and AI revolution .
As the series ends, Gokhan accepts that fact while remaining steadfast in his faith. With Kübra’s help, he also fulfils the promises he made to the people.
Season 2 of Kubra explores Gokan’s relationship with Kübra, the people close to him, and the rich and powerful people who have taken a special interest in him.
Now it’s a matter of time to see how the series will be executed, season 1 received much praise, and based on the trailer one can fairly say that it will give you at least a week of sleepless nights.
